Troubleshooting Common Raymond Mill Issues: Vibration and Output Drop
Is your Raymond Mill shaking excessively? Has your production capacity dropped suddenly? These are common issues that can be fixed quickly if you know where to look. Here is a troubleshooting guide from our engineers.
1. Problem: Excessive Vibration
Cause A: Uneven Feeding. If the feeder supplies too much or too little material, the rollers become unstable.
Fix: Adjust the electromagnetic feeder to ensure a continuous, steady flow.
Cause B: Hard Materials. Metal debris or stones that are too hard may be inside.
Fix: Stop the machine and clean the grinding chamber.
Cause C: Worn Deformation. The rollers or rings are worn unevenly.
Fix: Replace the rollers/rings in sets (never just one) to maintain balance.
2. Problem: Low Output (Capacity Drop)
Cause A: Blade Wear. The shovel blades (scoops) at the bottom scoop material up between the roller and ring. If they wear out, no material gets ground.
Fix: Replace the shovel blades immediately.
Cause B: Airflow Issues. The blower fan might be clogged, or leaks in the pipeline are reducing pressure.
Fix: Check sealings and clean the pipeline.
Cause C: Filter Clogging. If the bag filter is blocked, air cannot circulate, strangling the system.
Fix: Clean or replace filter bags.
Regular inspection prevents these issues. At zhengzhou Sinoma, we design our mills with easy-access doors to make maintenance and part replacement quick and safe.
