Uzbekistan 30 t/h Dry Mix Mortar Plant Project – Enhanced Edition
30 t/h stepped dry mix mortar plant in Mexico for tile adhesive, plaster, masonry. ±1% mixing accuracy, 20% energy saving. EPC by Zhengzhou Sinoma.
Project Details
Project Overview
This 30 t/h dry mix mortar production line was delivered to a leading construction materials producer in Mexico, supplying plaster, tile adhesive, masonry mortar, and insulation mortar to the local building market. Before this project, the customer ran the plant manually, which caused batch-to-batch quality variation, high labor cost, and low energy efficiency.
They awarded Zhengzhou Sinoma Engineering Technology a turnkey EPC contract for a fully automated stepped-type dry mortar plant. The plant was handed over on February 18, 2015, and has been in continuous operation since.
Why a Stepped (Tower-Style) Dry Mortar Plant
We proposed a stepped layout rather than a flat layout because:
Raw materials (sand, cement, lime, additives) move downward by gravity between stages — no horizontal conveying, less wear and power
It produces more consistently than a flat layout where bucket elevators cycle materials repeatedly
Footprint is compact, fitting the customer's existing factory plot
Future expansion to 40 t/h is straightforward by adding a second mixer line
Configuration
| System | Equipment |
|---|---|
| Core mixer | Twin-shaft paddle mixer, 2 m³ per batch |
| Mixing accuracy | ±1% homogeneity across the batch |
| Control | Full PLC/DCS with recipe management, real-time weighing, fault diagnosis |
| Storage | Sand hopper, cement silo, fly ash silo, additive micro-dosing hoppers |
| Dust collection | Pulse-jet bag filters at every transfer point, explosion venting on silos |
| Packing | Valve bag packing machine + bulk loading spout |
Key Design Highlights
Versatile formulation — recipe library stores plaster, tile adhesive, masonry, and insulation mixes; one batch at a time, switchable from the HMI in minutes
High automation — automatic dosing, weighing, mixing, and packing; a 2-person shift runs the whole plant
Dust & safety — pulse-jet filters and explosion-protected silos keep the plant clean and compliant
Energy saving — optimized conveying and mixing cut electricity use by ~20% versus the customer's previous manual line
Project Timeline
| Phase | Timeline | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Contract signed | August 2014 | Process design, recipe library definition, civil drawings |
| Manufacturing | Sep 2014 – Feb 2015 | Mixer, silos, steel structure, electrical cabinet fabricated in-house |
| Shipping & installation | Q4 2014 – Q1 2015 | Breakbulk shipment to Manzanillo, 4-month on-site installation |
| Commissioning & training | February 2015 | 30 days on-site, recipe tuning, operator training |
| Handover | February 18, 2015 | Commercial operation started |
Results After Commissioning
Output: Stable 30 t/h across all mortar formulations
Quality: ±1% mixing homogeneity, eliminating customer complaints on batch consistency
Energy: Electricity consumption down by ~20% versus the old manual line
Uptime: Over 5,000 hours of continuous operation without major breakdown
ROI: Payback projected under 3 years from labor, energy, and quality-yield savings
Customer Feedback
"The dry mix mortar plant from Zhengzhou Sinoma fundamentally upgraded our production. Energy cost is down, product consistency is up, and the DCS system makes operation safe and simple. Their engineers stayed through recipe tuning until our own team could run it independently."
Future Expansion
We proposed a second mixer line to lift capacity from 30 t/h to 40 t/h as the Mexican construction market grows. The stepped layout was designed from day one to accept this expansion without rebuilding the main steel structure.
