Project Overview

Zhengzhou Sinoma Engineering Technology delivered a customized HZS180 stationary concrete batching plant to a ready-mix customer in Canada in 2009. The plant was designed for high-volume commercial concrete production, with modular steel structure, a twin-shaft JS4000 mixer, and independent weighing for cement, water, fly ash, and aggregates.

Customer Requirements

  • Nominal output 180 m³/h of ready-mix concrete

  • Modular design for fast installation and future relocation

  • Accurate weighing to meet Canadian CSA A23.1 concrete standards

  • Low dust and noise to operate inside an urban ready-mix facility

  • Reliable winter operation (heated water and aggregate hoppers)

Configuration

SystemEquipment
MixerJS4000 twin-shaft compulsory mixer, 4.0 m³ per batch
Aggregate batcherPLD4800, 6-compartment bins
Cement silosBolted steel silos with screw conveyors
WeighingIndependent weighing for cement, fly ash, water, admixture, and aggregates
ControlAutomatic PLC control with recipe management and batch reporting

Key Design Highlights

  1. Modular structure — all steel sections bolted, allowing fast on-site assembly and easy relocation when the customer's urban yard lease ended

  2. JS4000 twin-shaft mixer — delivers homogeneous concrete in 30–35 seconds per batch, supporting 180 m³/h output

  3. Independent weighing — separate load cells for cement, water, fly ash, and aggregates ensure ±1% accuracy, critical for CSA-compliant structural concrete

  4. Low environmental impact — enclosed mixer cabin, dust-collecting silo vents, and heated water loop support winter operation down to −20 °C

Project Delivery

Zhengzhou Sinoma provided full turnkey support: process and steel structure design, manufacturing, sea freight to Vancouver, on-site installation supervision, commissioning, and operator training. The plant was commissioned on schedule and has been in commercial operation ever since.

Performance

  • Output: Consistent 180 m³/h design capacity, with peak batches reaching 200 m³/h

  • Weighing accuracy: Within ±1% for all materials, meeting CSA A23.1

  • Availability: Modular design and local support have kept uptime high across many years of operation

  • Flexibility: The customer has reconfigured the plant twice to support different commercial, paving, and precast concrete mixes

Why HZS180 for Commercial Ready-Mix

The HZS180 is a classic choice for medium-to-large ready-mix operators: the JS4000 twin-shaft mixer handles stiff, plastic, and lightweight concretes equally well; the modular steelwork keeps installation short; and the independent weighing system pays back quickly through lower cement over-dosing.
