Copper Ore Crushing Plant Project – Madagascar (150 tph)
150 tph copper ore crushing plant in Madagascar using PEW1100 European jaw crusher. High-chrome jaw dies, EPC by Zhengzhou Sinoma.
Project Details
Project Overview
This 150 tph copper ore crushing plant was delivered to a mining customer in Madagascar in 2020. The customer needed a robust primary crushing circuit to feed a downstream ball mill and flotation line at their copper mine. After evaluating several jaw crusher options, they selected the PEW1100 European-type jaw crusher from Zhengzhou Sinoma Engineering Technology under an EPC contract.
Site Challenges
Copper ore is hard and abrasive, requiring a crusher with thick jaw plates and high crushing ratio
The plant site was in a remote area, with limited local lifting and machining capacity
Installation space and foundation conditions constrained crusher size and weight
Spare parts logistics to Madagascar is slow — local wear-part stock had to be planned from day one
Why the PEW1100 European-Type Jaw Crusher
The PEW1100 was selected after we modeled the customer's ore hardness (bond work index) and ROM size distribution. Compared with a standard PE jaw, the European-type PEW offers:
Hydrostatic wedge adjustment for CSS setting, easy to change on site
Thicker jaw dies in high-chrome martensitic steel for longer life on abrasive copper ore
Integrated motor mount and V-belt guard, reducing on-site steelwork
Over-arm design that lowers installation height, fitting the customer's existing foundation

Results
Throughput: Consistent 150 tph at the customer's target CSS
Adaptability: Crusher fit the existing foundation and low-headroom building without modification
Wear life: High-chrome jaw dies achieved 6–8 months of continuous operation before flip/replacement
Logistics: Spare parts kit delivered with the crusher, avoiding downtime when the first set of jaw plates wore out
Customer Feedback
"Zhengzhou Sinoma sized the PEW1100 to our actual foundation and ore — not just sold us the biggest crusher they had. Installation went smoothly, and the spare parts they sent with the machine saved us when our first jaw dies wore out. We recommend them to other mining houses in Madagascar."
