Raymond Mill System Project – Indonesia (20 tph)
20 tph activated lime Raymond mill system delivered in Indonesia. 80–325 mesh adjustable, low vibration, dust-free. EPC by Zhengzhou Sinoma.
Project Details
Project Overview
In response to growing demand for high-quality activated lime in Indonesia's steel, gold mining, and flue-gas treatment sectors, our customer — a major lime producer in Central Java — invested in a new Raymond mill grinding line. They awarded Zhengzhou Sinoma Engineering Technology an EPC turnkey contract for a complete Raymond mill system, delivered and handed over on January 10, 2019.
The line now produces 20 tph of quicklime powder for both steel making (desulfurization) and gold mining (cyanide leaching pH control).
Why a Raymond Mill for Activated Lime
Activated lime (quicklime, CaO) is abrasive but not extremely hard. A Raymond pendulum mill is well suited because it:
Produces a uniform 80–325 mesh powder without over-grinding
Handles the sticky, hygroscopic nature of lime better than a ball mill in closed circuit
Has lower capital cost and simpler maintenance than a vertical mill for 20 tph scale
Integrates pneumatic conveying directly, avoiding a separate elevator after the mill
System Configuration
| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| Jaw crusher + feeder | Crushing lump lime to ≤ 20 mm before the mill |
| Bucket elevator | Feeding crushed lime into the mill hopper |
| Raymond mill host | Core grinding unit with shock-absorbing base, 75 kW main drive |
| Dynamic classifier | Fineness adjustment from 80 to 325 mesh |
| High-pressure centrifugal blower | Pneumatic conveying with increased air volume |
| Pulse dust collector | Baghouse at the product silo, outlet < 10 mg/Nm³ |
| Piping & electrical control | Full ducting and PLC cabinet with HMI |
Key design features:
Low vibration — shock-absorbing mill base reduces foundation load and allows installation on a steel structure rather than a heavy concrete plinth
Stable throughput — 20 tph sustained at 200 mesh fineness
High-pressure blower — stronger pneumatic conveying reduces pipe choking when lime moisture varies
Clean operation — pulse baghouse keeps the whole plant under slight negative pressure
Project Delivery
The EPC scope covered process design, equipment manufacturing, sea freight to Tanjung Priok, on-site installation supervision, commissioning, and operator training. The plant was handed over on January 10, 2019, and has been in continuous operation since.
Results After Years of Operation
Capacity: Stable 20 tph at the customer's standard 200-mesh product
Availability: Low-vibration design has kept mechanical issues to a minimum; typical annual uptime above 90%
Energy cost: Optimized host and blower combination delivers lower kWh per tonne than the customer's previous imported mill
Emissions: Baghouse outlet consistently below local Indonesian industrial dust limits
Customer Feedback
"The Raymond mill from Zhengzhou Sinoma was easy to install and commission. Their engineer stayed until our operators could change fineness themselves. Vibration is low, product is consistent, and we have not needed to replace the grinding rollers outside the scheduled wear-parts cycle."
Ongoing Support
Operator training on roller replacement, classifier blade adjustment, and filter bag cleaning
Wear parts package (rolls, rings, classifier blades) shipped annually
Remote technical support for process tuning when switching between 80-mesh and 325-mesh products
